(VT8) Because of confusion and inexperience they attacked without fighter cover. The first of the carrier torpedo planes to attack were Sixteen TBD Devastators from USS Hornet. The first single engine torpedo planes to attack the Japanese were six of the new TBFs from Midway. There were many different types of aircraft involved in this battle but I will confine my thoughts to the torpedo planes as that is what I voted for. ![]() I have locked the voting as it is time to move on to another subject. In that game when you play as the Allies, it always comes down to the Tiger 2 tanks being difficult to destroy. “Nuts” was the one word reply from the American commander at Bastogue, direct to the German Commander’s demand for their surrender. Some 100 other tanks were StuG III, Marders and Jagdpanzers. ![]() The Panthers are broken down into Panther D and Panther G. ![]() In this WW2 game I have, that is supposed to be historically accurate, it shows that the German forces at the Battle of the Bulge were made up with around 50 Tiger 2 tanks, 250 Panzer IV tanks, and around 350 (Panzer V) Panther tanks. ![]()
